We are all lovers, devotees of a higher power, thousands of lovers, but the Beloved is one for all. He whom we desire is the beloved of the whole world and is the one God for all men, not specifically for Muslims only, or for Hindus only, or for Christians only.

The whole of mankind is lamenting its unhappiness every step of the way. Who is there to give consolation in world, and guidance in the next? Guru Nanak has said on this subject, "O Nanak, break off all connections with the imperfect, and search for a perfect Master; they will abandon you even while you live, but he will never leave you even after death." His protection will always be over your head; keep your attention constantly on Him, and you will become a true disciple of the Master.
